About the role

The role holder will play a key part in the Group’s Economic Crime Risk Strategy Systems & Analytics Team work alongside operational, digital, change and product teams to provide the 1st line response in tackling economic crime by setting our prevention strategies.

As a Model Review Analyst the role holder will experience in Model Risk Management (MRM) and a strong understanding of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) Supervisory Statement SS1/23, including model inventories, model tiering, governance, independent validation, performance monitoring, and model risk reporting. SS1/23 establishes five key principles covering model identification and classification, governance, development and implementation, independent validation, and model risk mitigants.

We are recruiting within Manchester and Coventry operating on a hybrid approach with at least 1 day a week in the office.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the natural ability to want to make decisions based on fact rather than presumption and be able to adapt your approach in the moment and have the courage to stand up and be heard in the right way when it’s needed.

You will be pragmatic in the application of economic crime risk, control and compliance practices, with the ability to ensure they are proportionate to the risk landscape.

For this role you’ll need to have:

  • A strong knowledge of the economic crime space, with practical experience of working in risk and/or advisory.
  • Proficiency in statistical models for anomaly detection.
  • Experience within Model Governance, Model Risk Management, Economic Crime Analytics, Risk Management, or Regulatory Oversight.
  • Knowledge on how to support the implementation and ongoing maturity of the Economic Crime Model Risk Management Framework aligned to PRA SS1/23 expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and externally with the ability to provide evidence based recommendations from your findings.
