Summary

About the role

The Platform Owner supports the delivery, evolution, and operation of a strategic enterprise platform or capability. Working under the guidance of a Lead Platform Owner, the Platform Owner is responsible for managing day-to-day platform services, coordinating platform engineering activities, and helping ensure the platform remains reliable, secure, current, and easy for teams to consume.

While not accountable for the end-to-end value or outcomes of the platform, the Platform Owner plays a critical supporting role in delivering that value. They contribute to the platform roadmap, assist with service improvements, and help drive adoption of self-service capabilities that enable Portfolios, Projects, and Product Teams to deliver more effectively.

The role supports the management of the platform’s technology, tooling, and operational processes, including involvement in tooling assessments, renewals, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement activities (with architectural oversight and approval processes led by the senior role).

The Platform Owner works closely with engineering, architecture, security, and delivery teams to maintain strong standards, reduce friction, improve developer experience, and enhance the overall reliability of the platform. This role is both hands-on and coordination-focused, serving as a bridge between users of the platform, the platform engineering team, and the Lead Platform Owner.

This role provides an excellent development opportunity for someone progressing toward full platform leadership, gradually building capability in roadmap ownership, strategic decision-making, service management, and value-focused platform thinking.

We operate on a team led hybrid approach, with one to two days per week on site. Role requires flexibility to travel to other sites for key meetings and collaborative working subject to business demand, as well as participation in an on call rota and planned weekend maintenance activities. Role will be based in Coventry.

Our benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme
  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • Personal pension with matched contributions
  • Life assurance (6 times annual salary)
